Wherever you go…

Whether you’re back at work (or never left), running errands, or simply looking to enjoy some fresh air, we invite you to #BikeThere with us on May 20-23. May is National Bike Month and while we’d typically celebrate Bike to Work and School Days across SLO County, this year we’re highlighting the power of bicycles to connect communities and generate joy, while improving our health and preserving our air quality. Share photos of your solo or family rides on social media using #BikeThere and tag us (Instagram @slorideshare / Facebook @Rideshare / Twitter @slorideshare) – together we can help spread the word that bikes are key to our future.

Ride, Scan, and Win!

Bike There is the biggest bike campaign the SLO County region has seen yet! From May 20-23, you’ll find signs at dozens of locations countywide with a QR code to redeem free “Bike There” giveaways. You’ll also get entered to win a folding electric bike or youth bike*. Click the icons on the map to find a QR code near you!

*Rules apply: first 500 will receive a Bike There Buff and sticker (limit one per person). E-bike and youth bike prize entries are limited to one per person, per location. Participants are encouraged to visit multiple locations for more chances to win, but may only enter once per location.

To compete, simply visit iRideshare.org and log trips by bike to work, errands, and other spots around town. Electric bike trips and walking places count, too! So get active, log trips, and steal (or defend) the Challenge TITLE and trophy. Trophies will be awarded the week of May 24th.

And while you were away…

The pandemic has brought a lot of challenges, but also opportunities. Less traffic has allowed local jurisdictions to make a lot of improvements to biking and walking facilities in our region.

Check out these projects around SLO County when you #BikeThere this May!
