Bikes on buses
Bicycle racks are available on all regional RTA, SCAT and SLO Transit buses. Bicycles may be boarded at any designated bus stop. Good weather and a large community of bike riders sometimes fill bus bike racks to capacity. You should always have necessary equipment to lock your bike in case bike racks on the bus are full. Bike Lockers
Store your bike in a secure location. Rideshare has 26 Bike Lockers are located at nine Park & Ride locations throughout the region. SLO Regional Rideshare will provide you with a key to use the lockers on an annual basis. There is a $40 annual fee and a $10 refundable key deposit. Contact SLO Regional Rideshare at 781-1385 to get your own personal locker. Find your nearest Park and Ride lot here.

 

Bike Buddy
Whether you are an experienced cyclists or just getting started the Bike Buddy program gives you a two-wheeled push to keep you motivated and inspired to get cycling.  Register with iRideShare find a Bike Buddy. When you register you’ll be eligible for drawings and be kept up to date on bike related events.

  • Backpack- Least expensive
    t's an easy way to carry your stuff. Good for short trips and carrying a few items—if you are going for a long trip get the weight off your back and check out options below.
  • Basket - Inexpensive
    Dorothy held her dog Toto; you can simply hold a bag of groceries. Baskets can be easily secured to the front or the back of any bike.
  • Panniers - More expensive-but you'll never go back to a pack. It's a pack mule approach with practical style. The portable pop on, pop off bags make it easy to load books, groceries or business attire. You'll also need to invest in a rack for the back your bike to attach the panniers.
  • Sport Utility Bikes - Most expensive-but worth every penny
    Carry large loads you once thought only a car could manage. Both BOB Trailers and Xtracycles atttach to your bike taking the weight off your shoulders creating a unique way to carry everything from your surfboard to the kitchen sink.
