Bike Month 2010 Its time to gear up for Bike Month 2010! Get involved by forming a "Pod" (event planning group) or join an existing Pod. Last May we had over 50 free community bike events, all led by people like you. Get involved, plan your own event or help with an already existing event. Email Kelsie for more info.
Image Design Competition Thank you for participating in the Bike Month 2010 Image Design Competition. We would like to congratulate Brian Christopher and Jimmy apRoberts whose image was selected. We were blown away by the creativity and excitement of our community, with over 65 images submitted and over 900 votes cast!
What are Pods? Pods are groups of volunteers that plan events during Bike Month. For example, a Pod of friends planned an Ice Cream Social on the Morro Bike Boulevard last year and another Pod of folks planned the Bike Month Fashion Show. Pods can be as simple as a bike breakfast or as complex as a Bike Art Gallery.
Pods are the foundation of Bike Month - a truly human powered event. Join us during Bike Month 2010 and make a difference in your community - and have fun at the same time. You can start your own Pod, join an already existing one, or take an already brainstormed event and take off. To get invovled, email Kelsie at kgreer@rideshare.org.
Mini Grants Host the event that you have always wanted to see.Rideshare will once again offer Bike Month Mini Grants for Pods. That means your Pod/Event costs could be covered in total or in part. CLICK HEREfor a Mini Grant Application. Deadline for submittal is March 12th.

Bike Month 2010 Sponsorship Bike Month is made possible by cash or in-kind donations by businesses and organizations. Every year, Rideshare provides mini-grants to community members who want to plan their own FREE community bike event. Last year, we had over 57 events take place during May, all because of the generous support from our sponsors and the community. We also kept 34,091 pounds of emissions from entering the air we breathe and reduced 13,761 trips from our roads, making our community safer, cleaner and healthier. If you would like to support our efforts by becoming a sponsor, please contact us.
Many thanks to our already confirmed sponsors for Bike Month 2010 - Life in the Bike Lane:

- Air Pollution Control District
