
Rideshare’s Commuter Club offers mini-grant funding to employers in San Luis Obispo County for small projects, activities, incentives, or purchases that make it safer, more convenient, more enjoyable, or more feasible to commute to work using an alternative mode (i.e. not driving alone.)
Eligible activities include:
- Extra daily incentive, pilot program for longer term approach
- Parking payout pilot
- Vanpool, start-up
- Material goods for rewards, such as gift cards or merch
- Shirts for those who ride
- Materials for Bike Breakfast
- Bike Rack for commuters
- Bike & Helmet for a bike share
- Gas cards for incentives
- Lockers
- Carpool/vanpool signage or stenciling to create priority parking
- E-bike charging station
- Bike education classes
- E-bike rebate
- Transit passes
- Bike Lights
- Shower installation
New program ideas are always welcome!
Any Commute Coordinator, administrator or employee who is part of a SLO County business and wishes to build or grow their Commuter Club is welcome to apply for grant funds. Funds are offered as a reimbursement for eligible expenses. Funding amounts vary based on need- the minimum funding amount is $200 and the maximum is $600. The applicant must provide receipts to be reimbursed by the end of the fiscal year that the grant was received (no later than June 10th.)
Ineligible activities include:
- Staff salaries/payroll
- Bike events held during the month of May (May is Bike month! apply for a sponsorship instead)
- Infrastructure projects (construction or demolition)
- Fundraising
- Alcohol
- No individual can be given an incentive that is greater than $200 or a $200 value
Terms:
- Receipts must be turned in by June 10th of the same fiscal year that the grant was received
- Applicants may receive one grant in a fiscal year
- All receipts must be itemized
- Receipts that are turned in must reflect what the application was intending to use the funds for unless otherwise arranged with Rideshare staff
