Oceano Elementary School will have a whole week dedicated to the bike. Everyday will during the week of May 4th will be Bike to School Day. The school will have its usual bike safety instruction during PE which occurs twice during the week. The instruction will take place on our new bike training course (the only one in the county). We will be participating in World Bicycle Relief to raise money to help people less fortunate than ourselves. The 6th grade will be heading out to the SRAM facility in SLO to see how education is tied to the biking industry. Later Erin Inglish will be giving an assembly as part of her Bike and Banjo tour. There will be poster contests and essay contests to link academic curriculum to our special week. Also, we will be riding with our friends at Grover Beach Elementary School as part of the Ride with a the Mayor Day. We welcome and challenge any school in the county to match our efforts. Bike to School Week at Oceano is the bomb.
