The Ride of Silence is an international event in its 20th year that aims to raise the awareness of motorists, local officials and other entities that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. The ride is also a chance to show respect for and honor the lives of those who have been killed or injured.
Join us Wednesday, May 18 at 7 pm for the Annual SLO Ride of Silence. The San Luis Obispo Ride of Silence will start at the Bike Kitchen (860 Pacific Street, San Luis Obispo). The ride will loop through parts of S.L.O. and eventually pass by the ghost bike honoring Kennedy Love parked on Foothill Blvd. From there we will meander our way towards the end destination for a moment of silence at Mitchell Park. The exact route will be announced at the start of the ride.
Cyclists are asked to ride no faster than 12 mph, wear helmets, follow the rules of the road and remain silent during the ride. The event is free of charge.
